The best e-commerce platform in Estonia in 2026: the big comparison

Shopify, WooCommerce, Voog or Shoproller? There is no single best platform — there is the right one for your business. We compare all four on price, hosting, Estonian-language support and room to grow, then give a decision framework by business type.

The best e-commerce platform in Estonia in 2026: the big comparison

Asking which e-commerce platform is best is a bit like asking which car is best: a family business that needs a van and a rally driver will get different answers, and both will be right. For an Estonian merchant in 2026 there are four serious candidates on the table: two international heavyweights — Shopify and WooCommerce — and two local players — Voog and Shoproller. Let's look at each one honestly and finish with a decision framework by business type.

The four candidates in brief

Shopify

The world's best-known hosted store platform: hosting, security and updates are part of the subscription, and you can launch within days. Shopify Basic costs about €27 a month billed annually. The app and theme ecosystem is enormous, and — fresh news — Shopify Payments now works in Estonia, with bank links available through Montonio or Maksekeskus. The weak spots: the admin runs in English, and unusual requirements often mean paid apps.

WooCommerce

The leader of the Estonian market — according to the Estonian E-commerce Association, roughly 26% of local online stores run on WooCommerce. The plugin is free, control is total, and every Estonian agency knows its way around it. In exchange, hosting, updates and security are yours to manage — freedom arrives with obligations attached. We did the full arithmetic in our Shopify vs WooCommerce comparison.

Voog

Voog is an Estonian platform whose strength is elegant multilingual websites with a store module attached. Plans start at about €13 a month, support answers in Estonian, and the invoice comes from a local company. For a small shop with a compact catalogue, where the website matters as much as the store, Voog is a sympathetic, low-stress choice. For a large catalogue or complex logistics it runs out of features.

Shoproller

Shoproller is local too: a store platform where Estonian payments and parcel machines work out of the box, and tiers from €9 to €99 a month cover the road from micro-store to mid-size shop. Estonian-language support and ready-made local integrations make starting unusually smooth. It won't match the big two on international scaling or app ecosystems — but that was never its game.

Comparison table

Platform Price from Hosting Estonian support Growth ceiling
Shopify about €27/month included via partners effectively none
WooCommerce free + hosting your job via agencies high, needs upkeep
Voog about €13/month included yes small to mid-size
Shoproller €9–99/month included yes mid-size

Which platform for which business?

A first-time micro-store

If the goal is getting your first products on sale fast and with low risk, look local: Shoproller ships Estonian payments and delivery out of the box, and Voog fits when the website and the store need to live together. Both are cheap to run and supported in Estonian — hard to beat for a start.

A growing brand

Once revenue grows, campaigns multiply and every outage costs money, the road usually leads to Shopify: a rock-solid checkout, an effectively unlimited app catalogue and design freedom without server worries.

A B2B seller

Selling to business customers is about price lists, customer groups and payment by invoice. Both WooCommerce with its deep customisation and Shopify with its B2B features and apps are strong here — the decider is whether you want to own and run the stack yourself or rent it.

An exporter

If the plan is Finland, Latvia or further, Shopify's multilingual storefronts, multi-currency support and Shopify Payments make it the most direct route. WooCommerce can get there too, with more configuration and upkeep.

How to decide

Answer three questions. First: how big do you want to be in three years? If the answer is several markets and six-figure revenue, pick a platform you won't outgrow. Second: who runs the store day to day? If there is no technical person on the team, avoid anything that needs constant maintenance. Third: how custom are your needs? The more integrations and exceptions, the more the platform's ecosystem matters.

And if you would rather get the decision and the build from one place, we help from choice to launch: our store development service starts with platform selection and ends with a working store — a theme-based build ships in 2–4 weeks and starts from €4,500.
